IJA’O DO LA

“Prayer is the key, prayer is the master key,Jesus started in prayer and ended in prayer, prayer is the master key”. That was the song I sang on a very Sunny Tuesday as I prepared to go to work.

I had gotten out of the house right outside the gate before the HolySpirit told me to go back to use the anointing oil I had in my bag. The anointing oil I had long abandoned. As a stubborn child I shook His voice away, and went on my way. The sweet, loving Holy Spirit warned again and I thought, this must be serious let me go back. So I went back to use the oil and pleaded the blood of Jesus.

There was a lot of traffic on the road that leads to work as usual but as the bus got further it wasn’t usual anymore. It was worse because the traffic was a stand still. We were stuck because no cars, buses could move anymore, even bikes couldn’t manoeuvre their way. The matter became unbearable when our bus driver stopped us at Carter Bridge in Eko returning to us back our money to find our way because he wasn’t going anymore. One of the passengers began to fight the driver because he gave him a bad money which he could not collect. I left the scene trying to communicate to my boss that I was stuck in traffic and would be late.

I decided to get a bike which would pass through short cuts so I could get to work early. Gboooooooaaaaah!!! I heard gunshots and we all ran without looking at where we were going . I ran without looking back because him who escapes should find his way home(Eni ori yo, o dile). I got a bike luckily and a lady hurriedly joined me on the bike.

The bike man told us that the agberos wanted to kill a driver who hit one of their men and the police came to his rescue which also caused traffic. We took several routes and we got down at oyingbo. It became a coincident because the lady I took the bike with was also going to my work place for some business. We decided to take another bike, as we approached the group of bike riders,a young guy standing beside a car asked where we were going that he would help us. He told us to join him and we entered his car. We were about to move when one of the bike riders came to block the car and said we were going no where.

“I will less your tyre and break your glass, why would you pick our passenger, what kind of rubbish is this?, the bike man shouted. The guy was calm and was wondering what was happening. The bike man came to the driver’s door and opened it as though he wants to fight. The driver was calm and he didn’t say anything all through.

“Oga wetin you dey do no good at all, you know say this man wan help us but you’re wicked. You will meet your own at the front”,said the lady I was with. There were on lookers around wondering what was happening. All these while it was as though an anger was brewing from a depth within me. He began to curse and rant. I was already boiling and the lady with me told the driver to move that we should not reply him anymore.

‘It is your generation that all your curses will go to’,I replied him before the car started moving. I couldn’t believe my eyes because the next thing he did was put his hand through the window of the car on my face. I was shocked. I got down and began to fight him. I said so many words to him that people gathered and were asking what had happened. He kept saying that if I ever pass that road again I should avoid him. The lady who was with me in the car alighted and the guy drove away with my phone in his car.

Galatians 5:22-24 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

A little moment of patience would have saved me from fighting and embarrassing myself . Fighting does not turn to wealth(ijaodola) like someone will say. We do not gain anything from it.

What type of fruit do you bear? What type of fruit are you manifesting?Do you even have any fruit at all? I was so oblivious to the signs God gave me that I fell for the trap of the devil. I had no patience or self control. I allowed my anger to take hold of me and I fell. What if the bike man had brought out a knife to stab me. Would we have said she died right on the battle field? A minute of patience would have averted the fight.

When we meditate on the word of God, the HolySpirit begins his work within us. When we feed our trees we begin to yield good fruits which ends up manifesting in our lives. That I may know him was what Paul said. How much more would you know a person but through his words. It is the knowledge of Him that gives us power to overcome unfruitfulness and manifestation of bad fruits.

Have you ever had a fight? Have you ever lose your cool as a Christian? How did you resolve it? Have ever thought that what would Jesus do? I would like to hear your response on the comment session.

I love you all as always. Read, like, comment and share.
