Crush or obsession

Tracy sat with keen interest as the pastor announced the next ministration by Brother Chigozie. She was like a child waiting for her father to bear her gift, you could see the awe look on her face as she could not sit still because this was her crush being called on to the podium.

This was her first time in the church, her friend Blessing had invited her several times but she hadn’t had the time to go because of her work. Blessing had always told her gists  about brother Chigozie, she had told her about how anointed, intelligent, spirit filled and the great voice he has.

The girls in the church had their eyes on him, but he has never made known to anyone who his Fiancee was. Everyone assumed he was single. Even most of the older women in the church wanted him to marry their daughter. She abhor a little feelings for him in her heart which had grown as time passed.

She wondered how a person could love someone they’ve never met, but then it was possible in her own case. She had a private file on her laptop and phone passworded, where she secretly admired and wish he was all hers.

Tracy had all her attention glued on Chigozie all through the programme. The way his lips moved effortlessly as though the powerful voice he produced weren’t coming from in between it.

He spoke good English she noted, his tongue would go between his teeth anytime he mentioned words with -TH. She loved how his dimples reveals itself gradually whenever he’s about to smile. He was tall, dark skinned, good looking and educated. He even had a good job.

These she got to know from her friend. He is Igbo while she is Yoruba, her parents are not tribalistic, they are from different tribes too so they won’t have a problem with them getting married. She imagined the both of them at the altar, exchanging vows. Eureka! This is definitely the man she has been waiting for as she mentally pumped her fist in air.

“wow, your ministration was powerful,i was really blessed sir”, said Tracy to Chigozie as the crowd around him dispersed. She had waited after the programme to talk to him alone.

Blessing had left her because she could not wait for her anymore. Chigozie looked at her and smiled. “Thank you sister…..? “, he replied as he waited for her to complete the sentence with her name. She told him her name and they began to talk about music. She told him how she would love to be amongst his back up anytime he’s been invited for a ministration. She hit the nail on the head, because she knew they would be closer that way. He gladly accepted her and they exchanged numbers

Tracy got home late but felt fulfilled because she knew it must have been the Lord who led her to the programme that day. A deep part of her knew it wasn’t, but she convinced herself.

She knelt at the foot of her bed after freshening up to pray. She asked the Lord about Brother Chigozie, and how she planned to fast for three days so as to know if he truly was the one she was waiting for. She asked for a particular sign, that Chigozie should call or text her if he is the will of God for her. She tossed and turned on the bed as her mind was totally filled with thoughts of Chigozie.

Chigozie had the urge to text Tracy after much thought but he wasn’t sure if she could really sing as she claims but he was short of a backup singer. He needed someone urgently as he was an invited guest in a praise night organised by his former church.  He decided to call her and hoped she would be available.

Her screams echos in the empty room as she jumps around on the bed. She was excited beyond measures because this was God answering her prayers after the three days fasting she did. She hurried called Blessing to inform her on the updates. Blessing had cautioned her when she noticed some kind of obsession she had for him. She told her it wasn’t an obsession, rather her possession, God’s will for her.

Is this truly God’s will for her life? It’s been a while I posted here. I miss you all my readers sincerely from my heart. I hope you all will bear with me. My going awol is just for a short time. It is a passing phase for me.. I love you all always.
